Northern Trust gains; Goldman Sachs positive; AT&T preferreds rise

San Antonio, April 23 – At the Thursday close, the preferred space saw a net gain for a second day in a row.

On top of Thursday trading, Northern Trust Corp.’s 4.7% series E non-cumulative perpetual preferreds were up 15 cents to close at $25.03 on volume of about 425,000 shares.

Elsewhere, in the finance space, Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.’s 6.375% series K fixed-to-floating rate perpetual non-cumulative preferreds tacked on 1 cent to close at $25.43 with about 315,000 shares trading.

Sector peer Ally Financial Inc.’s 8.125% series 2 fixed-to-floating rate trust preferred securities improved by 15 cents to close at $21.15 on volume of about 279,000 shares.

Telecom services provider AT&T Inc.’s 4.75% series C perpetual preferreds picked up 13 cents to close at $22.88 with about 221,000 shares trading.

Meanwhile, healthcare IT name MTBC, Inc.’s 11% series A cumulative redeemable perpetual preferreds dropped 28 cents to close at $24.62 on volume of about 216,000 shares.
