Moody's rates Duke Energy, N.C., bonds Aaa/VMIG1

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned a rating of Aaa/VMIG1 to the North Carolina Capital Facilities Finance Agency's solid waste disposal revenue refunding bonds (Duke Energy Carolinas), $50 million of series 2008A and $50 million of series 2008B.

The rating reflects irrevocable, direct-pay letters of credit from Wells Fargo Bank, NA, which is rated Aaa/P-1.

The bonds sold on April 15.
