Nordion delays earnings release, negotiating amendments to facility

By Marisa Wong

Madison, Wis., Dec. 12 - Nordion Inc. said it is postponing the release of its fourth quarter and fiscal 2012 financial results and conference call scheduled for Dec. 18 and Dec. 19, respectively.

According to a news release, Nordion is delaying release of its earnings results because it is negotiating amendments to its credit facility.

The discussions relate to ongoing litigation, which may affect the terms and conditions of the credit facility.

Nordion entered into its $75 million three-year credit facility in June 2011. The facility has been used primarily to fund letters of credit associated with the company's pension plan and regulatory decommissioning obligations.

The company said it expects to release fourth quarter and fiscal 2012 financial results in January.

Nordion is an Ottawa-based health science company that provides products used for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease.
