Nobel Learning considers Knowledge Learning's offer, other strategic options

Charlotte, N.C., Oct. 2 - The board of directors of Nobel Learning Communities, Inc. formed a special committee to evaluate the expression of interest from Knowledge Learning Corp.

Knowledge Learning wants to acquire the company for $186 million, or $17 per share, it was previously reported.

According to a Nobel Learning news release, the committee will also review strategic alternatives for the company with the assistance of J.P. Morgan Securities Inc.

Nobel Learning is a national network of 178 nonsectarian private schools, including preschools, elementary schools and middle schools, in 15 states. The company is located in West Chester, Pa.

Knowledge Learning is an early childhood and school-age education and care company based in Portland, Ore.
