ABX Holdings shareholders pass pilot union's resolution on poison pills

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., May 13 - ABX Holdings, Inc. shareholders passed a resolution, opposed by ABX management, to force accountability and transparency on poison pill provisions, according to a news release from the Airline Professionals Association Teamsters Local 1224.

The union represents the 650 pilots of ABX Air, a subsidiary of ABX Holdings.

According to the release, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters submitted the resolution, which overturns an existing poison pill provision and prevents management from adopting a new poison pill provision without a shareholder vote.

"Many people stood up today and asked tough, serious, demanding questions of ABX Holdings executives," Capt. David Ross, president of Teamsters Local 1224, said in the release.

"What was received in response was the typical strategy of duck, deny, delay and blame," Ross added.

Addressing the poison pill issue is just the beginning of a call for more accountability from ABX Holdings' leadership, Ross said.

ABX Holdings, based in Wilmington, Ohio, provides air cargo transportation and related services to domestic and foreign air carriers and other companies.
