Moody's assigns A2 to ADM notes

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an A2 rating to Archer-Daniels-Midland Co.’s new unsecured notes due 2051.

The outlook is stable.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including the redemption of $500 million of notes due 2025.

“ADM is taking advantage of the low interest rate environment to extend maturities,” stated John Rogers, senior vice president at Moody's and lead analyst on ADM, in a news release.
