Neurocrine lays off 100 employees

Tampa, Fla., Aug. 8 - Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. said it is eliminating about 100 employees at its San Diego campus as part of its restructuring program to prioritize its research and development programs.

Neurocrine said it expects to incur expenses of about $3.6 million related to this staff reduction during the third quarter of 2006, consisting of one-time termination benefits that include salary continuation, outplacement services and other benefit costs paid out in cash.

Neurocrine is a San Diego-based biopharmaceutical company.
