Arch Capital Group files automatic shelf registration

Knoxville, Tenn., March 31 - Arch Capital Group Ltd. filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3-ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers common shares, preference shares, unsecured debt securities, depositary shares, warrants, share purchase contracts and share purchase units, along with debt securities and preferred shares to be offered by a subsidiary and guaranteed by the parent.

The securities may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

The Hamilton, Bermuda, company - which has U.S. headquarters in New York - provides property and casualty insurance and reinsurance.
