Relational Investors owns more than 39 million shares of National Semiconductor

Charlotte, N.C., April 2 - Relational Investors, LLC and its affiliates reported a 16.10% stake in National Semiconductor Corp. in a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The investors beneficially own 39,053,327 shares of the Santa Clara, Calif., semiconductor products company.
Relational Investors reported a 12.13% ownership interest in National Semiconductor in May 2007.
