KeySpan closer to merger with regulator approval

Charlotte, N.C., Aug. 22 - National Grid said the New York State Public Service Commission unanimously approved its acquisition of KeySpan Corp.

The approval is the final step in the Public Service Commission's review process of the merger. A settlement in principle was announced on July 9, according to a company news release.

KeySpan is a Brooklyn, N.Y.-based gas utility company.
