Singer buys more shares of Arbinet-thexchange

Charlotte, N.C., Aug. 19 - Investor Karen Singer upped her stake in Arbinet-thexchange, Inc. to 16.8% from 15.5% with the purchase of 80,599 additional shares of the company's stock.

According to a schedule 13D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, a portion of the shares were acquired on June 20 for $3.72 each, and the remainder were purchased on July 16 for $3.60 each.

Singer reported the purchase of 504,200 shares of the company's stock between April 14 and June 9 priced from $3.35 to $3.80 in a prior SEC filing.

The investor beneficially owns 4,030,273 shares of the New Brunswick, N.J., electronic market operator company.
