S&P lifts Nassau County, N.Y., G.O. bonds to A+

Standard & Poor's said it assigned its A+ long-term rating and stable outlook to Nassau County, N.Y.'s series 2008C general obligation bonds and 2008D general obligation refunding bonds, totaling $183 million.

The bonds are dated July 1 and are due Jan. 15, 2028.

S&P also upgraded to A+ from A the long-term rating and underlying ratings on the county's previously issued debt. The upgrade reflects improved financial management and performance, S&P said, as well as fund balance, debt management, and investment policies.
