Nanophase sells $988,000 of its common stock via private placement

Offering sells 2.6 million shares at $0.38 each to Bradford Whitmore

Knoxville, Tenn., Feb. 10 – Nanophase Technologies Corp. settled a $988,000 private placement of stock with Bradford T. Whitmore on Feb. 10, according to an 8-K filed Wednesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company sold 2.6 million common shares at $0.38 apiece. The price per share is a 9.52% discount to the Feb. 9 closing share price of $0.42.

Located in Romeoville, Ill., Nanophase develops nanocrystalline products used in sunscreens and abrasion-resistant materials.
