MSRB to list disclosures for municipal asset-backed securities in EMMA

Chicago, Nov. 25 – The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board said it will gather and disseminate disclosures for municipal asset-back securities through its Electronic Municipal Market Access service.

The change to EMMA adds disclosures related to municipal asset-backed securities required under Securities Exchange Act Rule 15Ga-1, according to a press release by the MSRB.

“The changes facilitate a requirement adopted by the Securities and Exchange Commission that seeks to benefit investors by making these disclosures readily available on the EMMA website, which houses all disclosures and trade data for municipal securities,” the release noted.

EMMA search functionality, e-mail alerts generated upon the posting of a disclosure for a specific security and e-mail reminders about recurring disclosure obligations for submitters will be updated to reflect submissions of ABS disclosures, the release added.

The MSRB said it will provide updated documentation in January for submitters of and subscribers to continuing disclosures reflecting the new category of disclosure that will be accepted by EMMA, with the exact operative date to be announced.
