MSRB: Municipal securities trading slips 7.6% to $733 billion in Q1

Chicago, May 14 - The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board said municipal securities trading dipped 7.6% to $733 billion in the first quarter of 2013, down from $793.4 billion traded in the same period a year ago.

Trading of revenue securities accounted for about 67% of the total par traded and 63% of the number of trades in the first quarter, according to a press release by the board.

The number of continuing disclosure documents received by the MSRB was 44,409 in the first quarter, compared with 39,269 documents in the year-ago period.
