MSRB appoints Alexander as a public representative through Sept. 30
By Tali David
Minneapolis, May 1 - The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board appointed Milroy A. Alexander to act as a public representative through Sept. 30, according to a press release.
Alexander is a former MSRB board member and former chief executive officer of the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority.
Benjamin S. Thompson, managing principal and CEO of Samson Capital Advisors, will continue to work as a public representative on the board through Sept. 30, 2014, the MSRB said.
Thompson is extending his board service to ensure that the MSRB complies with its statutory requirement to include at least one investor representative on its board of directors. He will serve the remainder of the term of Peter J. Taylor, who is resigning due to other commitments. Alexander was appointed to complete Thompson's original term.
The 21-member board has 11 members that represent the public and 10 that represent entities regulated by the MSRB, including broker-dealers, banks and municipal advisers. Seven individuals join the board each year and seven others complete their three-year terms.
