Municipal Energy Agency, Neb., to sell $75.91 million bonds after Thanksgiving

By Sheri Kasprzak

New York, Nov. 20 - The Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska plans to sell its previously announced $75.91 million in series 2008A subordinate power supply system revenue bonds at some point after Thanksgiving, said a sellside source close to the deal.

The bonds (//A) will be sold competitively.

Proceeds will be used to acquire a coal-fired power plant and to make capital improvements to it, as well as to redeem the agency's series 2003B auction-rate bonds. The remainder will be used to make a deposit to a debt service reserve fund.
