Municipal Energy, Neb., to sell $75.91 million bonds in December

By Sheri Kasprzak

New York, Oct. 29 - The Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska is expected to price $75.91 million in series 2008A subordinate power supply system revenue bonds during the first week of December, a source at the issuer told Prospect News Wednesday.

The bonds (//A) will be sold on a competitive basis.

"It is a long way off yet, but so far, we're aiming for the first week of December," said the issuer source.

"We don't have a lot of details on it right now, but our hope is to price in December."

Proceeds from the sale will be used to acquire a coal-fired plant and make capital improvements to it, redeem the agency's outstanding series 2003B auction-rate bonds and make a deposit to a debt service reserve fund.
