Tower Records' unsecured creditors committee appointed

Pittsburgh, Aug. 30 - Tower Records' U.S. Trustee appointed the official committee of unsecured creditors for the company's Chapter 11 case, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The committee is comprised of Kenny Tang of indenture trustee The Bank of New York, New York; Lawrence B. Gill of ALJ Capital II, LP, Los Angeles; James P. Shanahan of Baldwin Place Refi Co., LLC, Cincinnati; Sarah Moore of Baker & Taylor, Inc., Charlotte, N.C.; Douglas J. Bates of International Periodical Distributors, Inc., Bonita Springs, Fla.; Rene Goiffon of Harmonia Mundi USA, Burbank, Calif.; and John Kearney of Majap Investments Ltd., Glasgow, Scotland.

Tower is a subsidiary of Sacramento, Calif.-based MTS Inc. The company filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 20. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-10886.
