RBC plans leveraged buffered notes due 2018 linked to MSCI EAFE

Columbus, Ohio, March 2 – Royal Bank of Canada plans to price 23- to 26-month leveraged buffered MSCI EAFE index-linked notes due in 2018, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus 1.6 times any fund gain, up to a maximum settlement amount of $1,272 to $1,320 for each $1,000 principal amount. The exact cap will be set at pricing.

Investors will receive par if the fund falls by 15% or less and will lose 1.1765% for every 1% decline beyond 15%.

RBC Capital Markets, LLC is the underwriter.

The Cusip number is 78012KLR6.
