Scotiabank plans capped buffered notes linked to MSCI EAFE index

Madison, Wis., April 22 - Bank of Nova Scotia plans to price 0% series A capped buffered notes due 24 to 27 months after issue linked to the MSCI EAFE index, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

If the final index level is greater than the initial level, the payout at maturity will be par plus the index return, subject to a maximum redemption amount of $1,215 to $1,252.50 per $1,000 principal amount of notes.

Investors will receive par for losses up to 10% and will be exposed to losses at a rate of 1.1111% per 1% drop beyond the buffer.

Scotia Capital (USA) Inc. is the underwriter with Goldman Sachs & Co. as dealer.

The Cusip is 064159106.
