Scotiabank plans capped enhanced participation notes tied to MSCI EAFE

San Luis Obispo, Calif., Feb. 27 - Bank of Nova Scotia plans to price 0% series A capped enhanced participation notes linked to the MSCI EAFE index, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are expected to mature 24 to 28 months after issue.

The payout at maturity will be par plus triple any gain in the index, up to a maximum settlement amount of $1,307.50 to $1,360.00 per $1,000 principal amount. The exact cap will be set at pricing.

Investors will be exposed to any losses.

Scotia Capital (USA) Inc. is the underwriter with Goldman Sachs & Co. as dealer.

The notes will price on Feb. 28 and settle on March 7.

The Cusip number is 064159619.
