Former General Motors operating loss grows to $1.3 million in December

Pittsburgh, Feb. 10 - Motors Liquidation Co., formerly General Motors Corp., reported a $1.3 million operating loss for December on $774,000 in rental income, according to its monthly operating report filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

In comparison, the company posted a $958,000 operating loss for November on $1.11 million in rental income.

The net loss for December was $12.79 million, widening from a $10.17 million November net loss.

Motors Liquidation had $243.75 million of cash and cash equivalents at Dec. 31, down from $250.97 million at the end of December.

GM, a Detroit-based automaker, filed for bankruptcy on June 1, 2009. The new General Motors Corp. emerged from Chapter 11 on July 10, 2009. Motors Liquidation's Chapter 11 case number is 09-50026.
