Morgan Stanley plans leveraged buffered notes tied to iShares MSCI EM

San Luis Obispo, Calif., May 8 – Morgan Stanley plans to price 0% leveraged buffered notes linked to the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets exchange-traded fund, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are expected to mature in 20 to 23 months, between January 2017 and April 2017.

The payout at maturity will be par plus 1.6 times any fund gain, subject to a maximum settlement amount of $1,251.20 to $1,292.80 per $1,000 principal amount of notes.

Investors will receive par if the fund falls by up to 10% and will lose 1.1111% for each 1% decline beyond the 10% buffer.

The exact terms will be set at pricing.

The notes (Cusip: 61761JZD4) are expected to price and settle in May.
