Loeb invests in Aptimus

Charlotte, N.C., Aug. 29 - Aptimus, Inc. investors led by Loeb Partners Corp. bought 503,952 shares of the company's stock between Aug. 8 and Aug. 27, priced from $5.90 to $5.89 each.

With these initial investments, the reporting persons own 503,952 shares, or 7.62%, of Aptimus' outstanding stock, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Loeb bought the shares as an investment, but the filing stated that the shareholder may engage in discussions with management or the board of directors about the business and future plans of Aptimus.

Aptimus is a San Francisco direct marketing company.
