Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 5 - AptarGroup, Inc. sold $125 million of 10- and 12-year notes in a private placement.
The company carried out the transaction on Wednesday through a second supplemental note purchase agreement. It issued $75 million 3.25% series 2008-C-1 senior notes due Sept. 5, 2022 and $50 million of its 3.4% series 2008-C-2 notes due Sept. 5, 2024, according to a form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Proceeds will be used to repay existing debt.
Under the agreement, AptarGroup will pay interest on the outstanding balance of the notes semiannually beginning on March 5, 2013.
AptarGroup may prepay the notes from time to time in whole or in part with accrued interest and a make-whole amount.
Purchasers include Metlife Alico Life Insurance KK; the Northwestern l Mutual Life Insurance Co.; The Prudential Insurance Co. of America; Medica Health Plans; Prudential Private Placement Investors, LP; Pruco Life Insurance Co.; Prudential Arizona Reinsurance Universal Co.; AXA Equitable Life Insurance Co.; MONY Life Insurance Co.; Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey; Modern Woodmen of America; The Western and Southern Life Insurance Co.; Columbus Life Insurance Co.; Integrity Life Insurance Co.; and Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Co.
Aptar is a Crystal Lake, Ill.-based supplier of dispensing systems for the fragrance/cosmetic, personal care, pharmaceutical, household and food/beverage markets.
