Mirant posts $157.94 million October operating profit

Pittsburgh, Dec. 14 - Mirant Corp. reported a $157.94 million operating profit for October on net revenues of $550.17 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.

The numbers show a complete turnaround from a $110 million September operating loss on net revenues of $289.87 million.

The net profit for October was $74.6 million, compared with a $1.42 billion September net loss.

Cash on Oct. 31 was $272.62 million, down from $1.23 billion at the end of September.

Mirant, an Atlanta-based power company, filed for bankruptcy on July 14, 2003. Its Chapter 11 case number is 03-46590.
