Abraxas Petroleum files $150 million shelf

Seattle, April 4 - Abraxas Petroleum Corp. registered to sell up to $150 million of securities in an S-3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Covered by the shelf are debt securities, common stock, preferred stock, depositary shares, warrants and units. Securities may be structured as convertibles.

Guarantees on securities may be provided by subsidiaries Eastside Coal Co. Inc., Sandia Oil & Gas Corp., Sandia Operating Corp., Wamsutter Holdings Inc. and Western Associated Energy Corp.

The company will use proceeds for general corporate purposes.

Abraxas is an oil and natural gas exploitation and production company based in San Antonio.
