SAC Capital sells more than 2.48 million shares of Applera

Charlotte, N.C., June 16 - Investors led by SAC Capital Advisors, LLC sold 2,482,349 shares of Applera Corp., reducing their stake in the company to 3.5%, from 5.1% on April 25.

The shares were sold between May 5 and June 13 priced from $32.70 to $36.20 each, it was reported in a schedule 13D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

SAC beneficially owns 5,821,324 shares of Applera.

Norwalk, Conn.-based Applera develops instrument-based systems, consumables, software and services used in human disease research.
