S&P assigns AA+ to Apple notes

Standard & Poor's said it assigned its AA+ issue-level rating to Apple Inc.'s senior unsecured notes maturing in 2022 and 2026.

Apple’s AA+ corporate credit rating is unchanged and the outlook remains stable.

The agency rates the new notes the same as the corporate credit rating on the company.

Proceeds will be used notes for general corporate purposes, including the repurchase of common stock and payment of dividends.

S&P said the corporate credit rating incorporates its assumption that Apple will maintain a "minimal" financial risk profile, with adjusted leverage below 1 time, and a "strong" business risk profile, incorporating market-leading products, a globally diverse customer base and strong profitability.
