Columbus, Ohio, Jan. 21 – Millicom International Cellular SA subsidiary Telefonica Celular del Paraguay SAE, or Tigo Paraguay, completed a $250 million tap issuance of 5 7/8% senior notes due 2027 at 106.375 to yield 4.817%, according to a press release.
The notes are an additional issuance of the company’s outstanding $300 million of notes due 2027 issued on April 5, 2019.
Proceeds will be used to repay certain local borrowings and for general corporate purposes, which could include, in addition to funding operations, distributions to shareholders.
Tigo Paraguay is a subsidiary of Millicom International Cellular, a voice, data and cable television company based in Luxembourg. Paraguay is its biggest market.
