Midway Games gets two-month extension of its exclusivity periods

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Portland, Ore., July 1 - Midway Games, Inc. was granted a two-month extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and to solicit votes on the plan Wednesday from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Midway's exclusive plan-filing period was extended to Aug. 10 from June 12 and the solicitation period to Oct. 9 from Aug. 11.

The company had asked that its exclusive plan-filing period be extended to Sept. 10 and the solicitation period to Nov. 9.

When requesting the extension, Midway said once its asset sale was approved, it would be in a position to finalize negotiations with its creditor constituencies on the terms of a proposed plan.

The asset sale was also approved July 1.

Midway Games, based in Chicago, is a developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software for videogame systems and personal computers. The company filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 12, and its Chapter 11 case number is 09-10465.
