Apogent Technologies to bring $250 million 10-year notes in first half of May

By Paul A. Harris

St. Louis, April 24 - Apogent Technologies Inc. is heading to the high-yield market with an offering of $250 million senior subordinated notes due 2013, according to a company press release.

An informed source told Prospect News on Friday that Lehman Brothers will run the books for the deal and that it is "May business," likely to price during the coming fortnight.

Proceeds from the Rule 144A deal, together with borrowings under its existing senior credit facility, will be used to fund the repurchase of up to 15 million shares of its common stock.

The company is a Portsmouth, N.H. manufacturer of clinical diagnostic and life science research products.
