Mexico launches offering of dollar-denominated notes due 2053

By Marisa Wong

Los Angeles, April 20 – Mexico has begun an offering of dollar-denominated global notes due May 2053, according to a press release and details from a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The new notes may include new notes that are issued and sold to some holders of existing notes that participate in a concurrent tender offer.

The notes will feature a make-whole call option until six months prior to the maturity date, at which point they will be callable at par.

Citigroup Global Markets Inc., HSBC Securities (USA) Inc., Mizuho Securities USA LLC and Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC will act as joint lead underwriters for the new notes offering.

Deutsche Bank Trust Co. Americas is the trustee.

Proceeds will be used in part to retire outstanding debt under the tender offer and in part for general government purposes.

The issuer will apply to have the new notes listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
