MTA, N.Y., to redeem $41.71 million series R service contract bonds

Norfolk, Va., June 2 – The Metropolitan Transportation Authority, N.Y., called $41.71 million of its series R service contract bonds, according to two notices.
The authority will redeem $27.11 million of 5.5% transit service contract bonds and $14.6 million of 5.5% commuter service contract bonds. Both series mature on July 1, 2017.
The bonds will be redeemed at par on July 1.
The Bank of New York Mellon is the trustee agent.
