Mesaba collective bargaining agreement rejection date pushed back to Oct. 26

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Oct. 20 - Mesaba Aviation, Inc.'s effective date for rejection of its current collective bargaining agreements with its pilots, flight attendants and mechanics union was extended to 12:01 a.m. ET on Oct. 26 from Oct. 18, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Minnesota.

According to the filing, the extension was part of a court directive from an Oct. 17 hearing on a request for a preliminary injunction in an adversary proceeding between Mesaba and the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association.

Mesaba, an Eagan, Minn.-based Northwest Airlines affiliate, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 13, 2005. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-39258.
