Meridian Automotive reports $1.41 million April operating loss

Pittsburgh, May 23 - Meridian Automotive Systems Inc. reported a $1.41 million operating loss for April on $58.42 million in net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

In March, the company posted a $3.49 million operating loss on $72.63 million in net sales.

The net loss for April was $10.59 million, down from a $12.54 million March net loss.

The company again reported zero cash at the end of April, the same as at the end of March.

Meridian, a Dearborn, Mich., supplier of lighting, exterior composites, console modules, instrument panels and other interior systems to automobile and truck manufacturers, filed for bankruptcy on April 26, 2005. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-11168.
