Meridian Automotive posts $231,000 November operating loss

Pittsburgh, Dec. 20 - Meridian Automotive Systems Inc. reported a $231,000 operating loss for November on sales of $67.98 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The operating loss was a reversal of the $3.25 million operating income posted in October on sales of $81.83 million.

The net loss for November was $10.43 million, up from a $6.6 million net loss in October.

As in the previous six months, Meridian reported zero cash as of Nov. 30.

Meridian, a Dearborn, Mich., supplier of lighting, exterior composites, console modules, instrument panels and other interior systems to automobile and truck manufacturers, filed for bankruptcy on April 26, 2005. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-11168.
