Mercer International CEO owns 6.1% of company's stock

Charlotte, N.C., March 4 - Mercer International Inc. chairman, chief executive officer and president Jimmy S.H. Lee bought 100,000 shares of the company's stock on Feb. 29 for $750,695.91 using his personal funds.

Lee acquired the shares in the open market as an investment.

The transaction was reported in a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Lee beneficially owns 2,266,260 shares, or 6.1%, of the Seattle-based pulp manufacturing company.
