Apartment Investment and Management files automatic shelf registration

Philadelphia, April 21 - Apartment Investment and Management Co. and subsidiary Aimco Properties, LP filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers debt securities, preferred stock, class A common stock, warrants and guarantees for Apartment Investment and Management, along with debt securities for Aimco. The securities may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used for working capital and general corporate purposes, including repaying debt, acquisitions and improvements and expansions of its properties.

The Denver-based company is the largest owner and operator of apartment buildings across the United States. Subsidiary Aimco is a real estate investment trust.
