MediCor asks for 65-day exclusivity extension

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Portland, Ore., Sept. 30 - MediCor Ltd. requested an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend the exclusive plan-filing period to Dec. 5 from Sept. 30 and the solicitation period to Feb. 3 from Dec. 1.

The company said confirmation of its plan of reorganization is based on a receiver settlement agreement, which is being documented and still needs court approval.

Additionally, MediCor said it is still finalizing negotiations with its creditors committee and lenders regarding the terms of a consensual plan of reorganization.

A hearing is scheduled for Oct. 28.

MediCor, a North Las Vegas, Nev., health care company that makes and sells products for the aesthetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery and dermatology markets, filed for bankruptcy on June 29, 2007. Its Chapter 11 case number is 07-10877.
