Aon files automatic shelf registration for stock, debt securities

Knoxville, Tenn., Aug. 31 - Aon Corp. and Aon plc jointly filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3 ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers debt securities, guarantees, preference shares, class A ordinary shares, share purchase contracts and share purchase units.

The securities may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

Chicago-based Aon and its subsidiaries are focused on risk and insurance brokerage services, consulting and insurance underwriting.
