New Issue: MediaNews Group sells $150 million 10-year notes to yield 6½%

St. Louis, Jan. 14 - MediaNews Group Inc. sold $150 million of senior subordinated notes due April 1, 2014 (B2/B+) Wednesday at 99.092 with a 6 3/8% coupon to yield 6½%, a syndicate source said.

Price talk was 6 3/8% to 6½%.

Deutsche Banc Securities and Banc of America Securities ran the books on the Rule 144A deal. Wachovia Securities, Credit Lyonnais and Stephens were co-managers.

The Denver-based newspaper publishing company will use the proceeds to repay its revolver and for general corporate purposes.
