Anworth Mortgage files $500 million shelf registration

Philadelphia, May 23 - Anworth Mortgage Asset Corp. filed a $500 million shelf registration in an S-3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers common stock, preferred stock and warrants. The securities may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used by the company to acquire mortgage-related assets.

Anworth is a Santa Monica, Calif.-based real estate investment trust focusing on mortgage-backed securities and residential mortgage loans.
