MAXjet exclusive plan-solicitation period extended by four months

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Portland, Ore., March 17 - MAXjet Airways, Inc. obtained a four-month extension to its exclusive period to solicit votes on its plan of liquidation, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The exclusive solicitation period was extended to June 17 from Feb. 17.

At the time that the motion was filed, MAXjet's disclosure statement for its plan had been approved, but the company said it was still working with parties in interest and their creditors to confirm a consensual plan in these cases.

MAXjet was an all-business-class airline based in Dulles, Va. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Dec. 24, 2007. Its case number is 07-11912.
