MAXjet aircraft parts supply and storage claim settlement approved

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, March 17 - MAXjet Airways, Inc. received court approval to grant more than $4 million in claims to Lufthansa Technik AG to settle an aircraft parts supply and storage claim dispute, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, Lufthansa will have a $4 million unsecured claim against MAXjet and a $15,000 administrative claim.

Lufthansa will also have a secured claim in connection with MAXjet parts and equipment that are controlled by the supplier.

According to the motion, MAXjet had objected to the amounts, classification and allowance of the Lufthansa claims for various reasons.

MAXjet was an all-business-class airline based in Dulles, Va. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Dec. 24, 2007. Its case number is 07-11912.
