New Issue: Malaysia’s Maxis issues RM 840 million nine-year sukuk

Morgantown, W.Va., July 29 – Malaysia’s Maxis Bhd. announced it issued RM 840 million of nine-year Islamic medium-term notes through subsidiary Maxis Broadband Sdn. Bhd. on Friday.

This is the first series under the company’s new RM 10 billion sukuk program.

CIMB Investment Bank Bhd. is the lead arranger for the 30-year program.

The company plans to use proceeds for financing acquisitions as well as capital expenditure, working capital or general corporate purposes.

Maxis is a mobile communications operator based in Kuala Lumpur.
