Maxim adds Renzo to banking team specializing in PIPEs

By Julie A. Miller

Washington, July 2 - Maxim Group LLC has named Salvatore "Sal" Renzo senior vice president of investment banking, further bolstering a team that specializes in structuring private investments in public equity securities.

On Tuesday, Maxim named PIPE specialist Richard H. Kreger senior managing director of investment banking.

Renzo will be responsible for sourcing and managing transactions for emerging growth and middle-market companies across a range of industries and regions.

"Sal has over 15 years of corporate finance and investment banking experience serving private and public companies, primarily in the healthcare, technology and homeland security sectors," Clifford A.Teller, executive managing director and head of investment banking at Maxim Group, said in a statement.

"His financial management experience serving as the CFO of merging growth companies clearly brings an added dimension to the capabilities of our investment banking department."

Prior to joining Maxim, Renzo was a vice president at Midtown Partners and Co. LLC, an investment bank focused on PIPEs. He was a principal at Marco Polo Securities, an investment bank focused on middle-market and cross-border transactions, from 2004 through 2006. Renzo served as CFO for RRI Managed Services, a healthcare services provider, from 2001 through 2003. He also served as a member of transitional management teams in turnarounds and restructurings for such companies as Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers, Benefice Advantage, DCS Inc, and Trafo-Data Inc.

Renzo, 39, is a certified public accountant who has also worked at Deloitte & Touche LLP and Ernst & Young LLP. He received a B.A. in finance from Pace University and an M.B.A. from Clemson University.

Maxim Group is a New York-based investment banking, securities and wealth management firm.
