Fitch affirms Anthem, debt

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed the A+ (strong) insurer financial strength rating of the insurance subsidiaries of Anthem Inc. and maintained the negative outlook.

Anthem’s BBB senior debt rating was also affirmed.

Fitch said the affirmation reflects the company’s very strong business profile and strong financial performance and earnings as well as strong debt service and financial flexibility.
