Fitch applies BBB to Anthem notes

Fitch Ratings said it assigned a BBB rating to Anthem, Inc.'s planned issue of senior notes due 2028 and 2048.

The rating is equivalent to Fitch's ratings on the company’s currently outstanding senior notes.

No action was taken on the insurer financial strength rating or issuer default rating.

The outlook remains negative.
